Sunday Stretch: Vol. 15
Start off your week with a grounded take on Bible, prayer, the world, and your life ...
Merry Christmas, Everyone!
I wonder where and when you might be reading this. Are you lying awake in bed, waiting for the sound of little feet running down the hall: Santa came!
Are you lying awake in bed, remembering Christmases past, thinking ahead of family to see today - and missing those who won’t be present, for one reason or another?
Are you up early for work? Will you be attending or preparing a Sunday Christmas worship service?
Wherever and whenever you read this, like I said, Merry Christmas. This is the last Sunday Stretch of 2022. I’m taking a New Year’s Day break next week, and then we will back in the year ahead with more Bible, prayers, and reflections/questions.
This Christmas Eve was my last one at my current congregation. So it was a beautiful and bittersweet night. But thank God: today is born to us a Savior, and God never intended the Savior to be me.
The work of the church goes on. And I’m grateful for this space to continue sharing in ministry together, as I discern what’s coming up ahead.
